Practical Gymnasium in Ystad is looking for a Vocational Teacher in Care and Nursing

About the School

Practical Gymnasium Ystad offers students a concept where theory is mixed with practical exercises both at the school and at workplaces. At Practical, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable experience. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: carpenter, painter, electrician, hairdresser, stylist, salesperson, plumbing technician, refrigeration technician, and nursing assistant. Currently, the school has just under 300 students and about 35 employees.

Your Role

The position is a full-time position (100%) starting as agreed. You will teach and supervise our students in care and nursing, and together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. In addition to job-specific tasks, you, like the other teachers at the school, have duties such as mentor, and together you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Practical Gymnasium. We communicate primarily through Schoolsoft and StudyBee, and we work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a certified vocational teacher in care and nursing and are trained as a nurse or nursing assistant. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You who lack teacher certification have the opportunity to apply for the position. You and the school principal will jointly draw up a plan for how you can become qualified in the shortest way possible. The duties include contact with business life as a large part of the students' study time consists of work-based learning (APL), and therefore good communication with employers is an asset.

We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, and that you identify with our values and keywords. Our students long to go out into working life, and your biggest task is to lead the students there!
