At Malmö Latin School, we are looking for a violin teacher with a focus on folk music and classical music. This is a 15% temporary position (substitute) for the school year 2026/27 (2026-08-10 to 2027-06-18). Work with us and contribute to the future of Malmö and society.

Responsibilities

As a subject teacher in violin at the Arts Programme, you are responsible for helping students develop skills in playing their instrument, communicating, and collaborating with others in musical contexts, as well as teaching knowledge about music and musical styles. You contribute with drive, energy, and motivating efforts to ensure students develop their instrumental skills. The role also includes concert activities with the students.

Furthermore, you work to ensure that students reach their full potential – both academically and socially. You support, motivate, and stimulate each student to meet the knowledge requirements based on their individual prerequisites. Your duties include planning, teaching, and assessment, as well as evaluating and developing the pedagogical activities in accordance with the school's governing documents.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Teaching certification
• Eligibility to teach violin at the upper secondary level
• Excellent subject knowledge and practical experience in playing folk music on the violin, as well as extensive knowledge of the classical violin repertoire
• Experience using digital tools for communication and pedagogy
• Good understanding of the school's goals and governing documents
• Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
