Job Description

Do you want one of the most important and rewarding roles in the world of education? We are currently looking for a special needs teacher with a passion for sports, health, and motor development who wants to make a real difference for our students in our adapted primary school.

As a special needs teacher with us, you play a key role in creating an accessible, safe, and stimulating learning environment. Your daily work is varied, and you work both directly with students and strategically together with colleagues and school leadership.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting teaching, assessments, guidance, and observations of individual children, students, and groups.
  • Actively influencing and stimulating students to develop as much as possible – both academically and socially – to meet the knowledge requirements.
  • Educating and guiding your colleagues, as well as serving as a pedagogical support to the school leadership in working with children and students in need of special support.
  • Participating in and driving operational and method development with a focus on sports, motor skills, and adapted pedagogy.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher / certified preschool teacher and have a special needs teacher degree with a specialization in intellectual disability. If you have previous experience working as a special needs teacher, it is an advantage. You need to have good knowledge of the school's steering documents and the ability to apply them in your daily work. It is important that you have good didactic and pedagogical skills and knowledge of relevant digital tools.

To succeed and thrive in this role, we see that you have the following qualities:

  • Relationship-building and empathetic: You have a genuine ability to meet each student based on their unique conditions and build safe relationships.
  • Pedagogical leadership: You are confident in your leadership role, spread positive energy in the gym, and can create structure and predictability.
  • Collaboration and guidance skills: Since you are to support both colleagues and management, you are communicative, pedagogical in your approach, and good at sharing your expertise.
  • Flexible and solution-oriented: You adapt easily when conditions change and see opportunities rather than obstacles in daily operations.

We look forward to receiving your application!
