Recess Teacher (Fritidshem) at Gruvrisskolan!

Gruvrisskolan is one of Falun's largest F-6 schools, located in the nature-rich district of Galgberget. Approximately 500 students attend the school, of whom nearly 300 are enrolled in our recess school (fritidshem) departments. Galgberget is a part of Falun where new villas and multi-family houses are being built. The school has a nice outdoor environment and good facilities, along with a staff group driven to develop the operations.

At Gruvrisskolan, the team culture is strong. Recess school staff and teachers in primary school and preschool class work together in year-group teams. The students are at the center, and our collaboration to ensure their success is what matters most to us. Our quality work focuses heavily on health and security, and the school has a well-developed recess system aimed at creating security and daily physical activity.

A recess teacher has an extended responsibility for planning the recess school activities, which is done together with an experienced group of recess leaders and student assistants at our two recess departments. Each department also has a coordinator who serves as an important contact between the departments and our school administration.

Responsibilities

As a recess teacher, you have the ultimate responsibility for planning and implementing recess school activities based on current governing documents, primarily within your own team but also for Gruvrisskolan's recess school operations as a whole.

During school hours, you collaborate with preschool/primary school teachers with the students' needs as the starting point.

Requirements for the role

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach in recess schools, alternatively preschool class or primary school.

Meritorious qualifications

• Previous experience in the teaching profession (e.g., in recess schools, preschools, preschool classes, or primary schools).
• Good knowledge of working with students in need of adjustments and special support.

Employment Terms

The recruitment is for a permanent full-time position. This is a holiday cover position. Start date August 3rd or as agreed.
