Description

Hällefors Municipality has a central student health service that supports the municipality's two primary schools, adapted primary school, and upper secondary school, serving a total of approximately 800 students. The student health team consists of counselors, school nurses, special needs educators, school doctors, and psychologists. We are now looking for an additional special needs educator and are seeking you who want to become part of our team.

The goal of the student health service is to promote learning and remove obstacles to education. The work is health-promoting, preventive, and remedial at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and investigations of students' needs, and be involved in psychological assessments and diagnosis of learning difficulties or other disabilities.
  • Work with adaptations and support for students with various needs, both in teaching and in the school environment.
  • Provide consultative support to school staff, including teachers and principals, to create a more inclusive and adapted learning environment.
  • Support and guide parents to help them understand and support their children's development and learning.
  • Collaborate with external actors such as habilitation services, hearing educators, speech therapists, and the Swedish National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Special Education or Special Teaching.
  • Experience working with students in need of special support.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Empathy and sensitivity in working with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Good command of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Valid Category B driver's license.

Merits

  • Experience with the documentation system PMO.
  • Experience working with students with neuropsychiatric and intellectual disabilities.
  • Teacher's degree from primary school level.

Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time (100%) employment, with daytime working hours and an intended start date in autumn 2026. A probationary period may apply. This is a vacation coverage position.
