The City Mission School Foundation is a non-profit, values-driven main operator that runs Grillska Gymnasium. With seven upper secondary schools in the Mälaren region and approximately 3,000 students, we equip young people with knowledge, security, care, and courage – for the future and for society.
Being values-driven means primarily that we are not driven by any other interests than our vision – a school for a more humane society. The schools are independent schools operated as foundations, meaning there is no owner taking out profits. Any surplus goes towards the development of the operations.
Our schools work with learning and development within common focus areas. These areas fall under the three headings of pedagogy, health, and civic engagement. We develop practices that, according to science and proven experience, have a positive impact on the learning situation, on the work for the health of students, and on enabling our students to enter the world with strong civic engagement.
The foundation founder, Stockholm City Mission, has been running education since 1857, and we share the same fundamental, humanistic view of humanity and values.
Through education, we can prevent exclusion and strengthen the individual's belief in themselves and their own abilities, working towards our vision of a school for a more humane society.
