About the Position

Welcome to Hästskon Preschool! As a preschool teacher here, you will work together with the team to create the best education for the child, where the child has the opportunity to meet the curriculum through both play and planned and spontaneous teaching. Hästskon is one of two preschools in the Norrby preschool area and has five departments: two for ages 1-2 and three for ages 3-5.

We work in a project-oriented manner and value that the child has influence over their daily life and that children and guardians feel involved in the child's education. We have scheduled reflection time, both individual and within the team, regular meetings for collegial learning, and the opportunity for supervision with a special needs pedagogue when needed.

For three years, Norrby preschools have participated in a research program through Ifou regarding language development, and these experiences live on in the form of action research conducted continuously on the departments. We work with the book "The Multicultural Preschool" in collegial learning to further develop our language and knowledge-building work. Other prioritized development areas are play and movement, as well as our learning environments. The preschool's approach is based on Guided Interaction (ICDP), where children are met with warmth, curiosity, and structure based on each child's conditions and needs.

Examples of Tasks:

• Lead, organize, plan, implement, and develop teaching
• Use methods and approaches in education based on scientific grounds and proven experience
• Know and follow the current curriculum, laws, policies, and routines
• Work in a project-oriented manner where children meet in smaller groups for dialogue, exploration, and relationship building
• Offer a good environment for care, development, play, and learning
• Work and document in the activity system

About the Workplace

Hästskon Preschool has five departments in a standalone single-story building. All food is cooked by the preschool's own cook and eaten in the common dining room in the middle of the house. The preschool has a large, lush yard and is close to both forest, playgrounds, and the city's cultural offerings. Together with Norrstjärnan Preschool, we have cargo bikes that can be used for excursions in the area, and it is close to the city bus for longer trips.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable in their role and has a good understanding of how children acquire knowledge based on different conditions and needs. You take responsibility for the teaching and are active in the pedagogical development of the preschool. In this role, you need to have good collaboration skills and be able to create trusting relationships with children, colleagues, and guardians. You are flexible in daily life, can handle changes that arise, and have a good ability to plan and organize your work.

Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with children, relatives, and other staff, as well as document in writing what the activity requires. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

• Qualified preschool teacher, or alternatively hold a degree that qualifies for licensure
