We are now looking for our next Health and Safety Engineer based in Skärblacka, outside Norrköping.
As a Health and Safety Engineer at Billerud, you are an expert, advisor, and enabler within health and safety. You work both operationally and strategically, focusing on systematic work environment management, regulatory compliance, and strengthening the safety culture across the entire mill.
You will become part of the SA Health & Safety function and collaborate closely with managers, the safety organization, employees, contractors, as well as corresponding functions within the Billerud Group.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Serving as a specialist in health and safety and fire protection as an advisor, trainer, and internal auditor.
- Supporting operations in change initiatives focusing on behaviors, attitudes, and culture.
- Planning and developing methods for risk assessments, incident reporting, and investigations.
- Conducting audits, technical measurements, and analyses.
- Compiling and following up on statistics related to near misses, accidents, and risks.
- Coordinating the monitoring of health and safety legislation and ensuring compliance.
- Contributing to the development and publication of health and safety information on our intranet.

Qualifications
To succeed in the role of Health and Safety Engineer, you have:
- A completed post-secondary education as a Health and Safety Engineer. Alternatively, work experience that Billerud assesses as equivalent.
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and systematic work environment management.
Additional qualifications are meritorious if you have experience with:
- Hot work, ATEX, CLP, LSO, or Seveso legislation.
- Risk assessments and health and safety investigations in industrial environments.
- Digital systems for incident reporting and risk management (e.g., IA systems).
