The Joint Management Administration consists of the areas Support and Development, Strategic Municipal Planning, Fire and Rescue Services and Security, HR, Communication, and Planning and Follow-up.

The administration is tasked with leading, supporting, and coordinating the entire municipal organization on behalf of the Municipal Executive Board. This is done by focusing on the customer's needs and having a holistic view and common working methods. We are a learning organization that promotes innovation and learning from both the external world and each other.

In total, 128 people work within Fire and Rescue Services and Security. In the operational part, 35 full-time firefighters, 57 rescue personnel on standby (part-time firefighters), and 20 people in the rescue reserve work. The position is located at the fire station in Tjällmo.

Job Description

Being a firefighter on standby means you respond to alarms by being on standby and ready for rescue work within 7 minutes. Your tasks include participating in exercises to master moments related to our most common types of accidents, such as fires, traffic accidents, medical care, or water rescue. You will prepare for alarms, execute alarms, and restore after alarms. It is important that you both live and work within 7 minutes of the fire station in Tjällmo. The standby period is 1 week, every 4th week. Exercise and training time is approx. 60 hours/year.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who meets the following requirements:

• Standby time and response time: You must be able to get to the fire station within 7 minutes and be able to have standby duty for one week every 4th week.
• Category B Driver's License: You must have a Category B driver's license at the time of employment. Once employed, you must begin training to obtain a Category C driver's license.
• Good Physical Condition: We apply physical tests before employment, so you need to be healthy and in good physical condition.
• Permission from Main Employer: You need approval from your main employer to have standby duty during regular working hours.
• Swimming Proficiency: Swimming proficiency in accordance with the Silver Buoy standard.
• Assembly Test with Alarm Gear: You will undergo a work-related assembly test before being approved for duty and employment.

Meritorious (Preferred):

• Category C Driver's License: It is meritorious to have a Category C driver's license as this is something all our employed firefighters must have in the long run.
• Training in Fire and Rescue Services or Medical Care: It is meritorious if you have already worked in Fire and Rescue Services elsewhere or have training in municipal Fire and Rescue Services.

You are confident in yourself, stand up for your opinions, and have the courage to speak out when necessary. You have the ability to separate facts from personal matters and can feel secure even in uncertain situations.

You work well with other people, relating to them in a listening and smooth manner. You can adapt and find win-win solutions through a non-hierarchical focus on the common goal.

You have the resources required for change or problem-solving. You do your best by doing what you can right now and quickly find solutions to emerging problems.
