About the Position

Here, you will have the opportunity to help develop our operations in schools and after-school centers. As a social pedagogue, you will be part of a work team together with teachers and after-school staff. You will divide your time between being a resource in the classroom and during after-school activities. The role primarily focuses on working with students' social skills and providing support for learning. You will also serve as a vital link between students and guardians, especially for those students who need extra support. The student health services will provide you with specific tasks to ensure that every student receives the help they need.

You will work together with educators and carry out resource and after-school pedagogical activities during school hours. In the afternoons, the activity shifts to after-school care. Your working hours are scheduled during the after-school center's opening hours, currently between 06:00–17:30. Opening or closing duties may be included in the role, with some flexibility to accommodate individual preferences regarding working hours.

Examples of duties:

• Support and guide students in their knowledge and social development.
• Work from a preventive perspective.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate group activities at the after-school center based on the operational area.
• Conduct conversations in both group and individual settings.
• Work individually tailored to students' needs.
• Collaborate with other actors in society related to the operations.
• Methods and approaches are based on theory, proven experience, and research.
• Participate in competence development related to the role.
• Be familiar with and follow the organization's current laws, policies, and routines.
• Work and document in the existing operational systems.

About the Workplace

Brunnsskolan is a well-functioning school covering grades F–6, with approximately 460 students and 60 staff members. We have four after-school centers at the school and achieve good results regarding knowledge and security. Within the Preschool and Primary School Administration, approximately 4,530 employees work. We meet young people in Örebro from their first day in preschool to their last day in primary school. Qualifications

To thrive as a social pedagogue with us, you are confident and stable in your professional role and skilled at inspiring and leading activities. You have a listening approach, are responsible and clear, and perform your work with a strong focus on an inclusive attitude. You have good communication skills, are a clear and active leader who likes children, and wishes to be part of the children's whole day with warmth and firmness. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of child development and learning, as well as experience in school and after-school operations. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues on issues regarding students' various challenges and expectations; you are skilled and interested in building trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Additionally, you master the Swedish language to such an extent that you can communicate with children, guardians, and other staff, as well as document in writing as required by the operations.

Requirements:

• Adequate university degree of 180 credits, or alternatively other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Competence or experience working with students with NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) diagnoses.

Merits:

• Competence or experience with ICDP (Interactive Child Development Program).
• Experience with break-time activities involving movement.
• Experience with similar tasks in schools or after-school centers.
