Malmaskolan in Malmköping is now looking for a creative and inspiring teacher for visual arts, grades 1–9.

HERE ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of visual arts teacher for grades 1–9, you have a creative and varied assignment where you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating visual arts education based on the national curriculum. You spark students' curiosity and desire to create by introducing different techniques, materials, and forms of expression, while also developing their ability to interpret and analyze visual expressions.

The teaching is adapted to the students' age, needs, and prerequisites, where you create a safe and inspiring learning environment that encourages both creativity and structure. You work with everything from basic visual creation in younger ages to more advanced tasks within image analysis, digital creation, and aesthetic expression in the older grades.

An important part of the assignment is to support the students' development of both practical and theoretical knowledge in the subject, as well as strengthening their ability to communicate and express themselves visually. You also work with assessment and documentation of students' learning in a clear and legally secure manner.

As a visual arts teacher, you are part of a collegial context where you collaborate with other teachers to contribute to the whole of the students' education. You are responsible for creating a well-functioning and accessible art room with good order, structure, and material management. The assignment also includes mentorship.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:

• Be a certified teacher with eligibility to teach visual arts.
• Have good computer skills.
• Have good ability to work systematically with planning, implementation, and follow-up of teaching.

• Previous experience teaching in grades 1–9.

You are a creative and engaged teacher who has a strong ability to inspire students to create and explore visually. With clear pedagogical leadership, you create structure in the teaching. Your ability to meet students at different levels and adapt the teaching so that everyone is involved is an important trait, and you help students develop based on their prerequisites. Your approach is relationship-building, and you contribute to a safe and permissive learning environment where students dare to try, fail, and develop.

You are structured and responsible, with good order in both planning and resource management. At the same time, you are flexible and solution-focused when teaching requires adaptation or new working methods. You thrive in collaboration with colleagues and see the value in strengthening the students' holistic view and learning. With your engagement and communication skills, you contribute to the school's joint development and a positive learning culture.

Malmaskolan is located in the charming small town of Malmköping, a historic urban area located approximately 15 kilometers northeast of Flen. With its approximately 400 students and Bettna School with approximately 65 students, they form a joint principal area together where collaboration and trusting relationships form the basis of the operations. Here, the large principal area's broad network and development opportunities are combined with the small school's proximity.
