Within walking distance of Eskilstuna city center lies Djurgårdsskolan, with its 800 students from preschool class up to grade nine. The school is located near the Djurgården park area and Odlarskogen, with beautiful walking trails and jogging paths. Here you will also find the Old Town Music Classes, which students from all over Eskilstuna municipality can apply to. Many students choose to apply to us, which we are happy about!

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a music teacher, you teach students in grades 4-9. Through varied and inspiring teaching, you spark students' interest in music and encourage their creativity and musical development. You plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching in accordance with the curriculum. Teaching takes place in the school's equipped music room, and you actively participate in school traditions, such as Lucia celebrations and summer closures. During the year, several performances and concerts are created here, where you contribute to both planning and execution. The position also includes mentorship for a middle school class together with a colleague.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who want to carry forward the legacy of the Old Town Music Classes together with us. You have a teacher's degree and teacher certification with eligibility to teach music. You may also be at the end of your education. It is meritorious if you have experience teaching music, with a focus on choir teaching. You are well-versed in the curriculum.

You are passionate about choral singing, especially when it comes to children and young people. You enjoy making connections and collaborating with other musicians and have a cross-curricular perspective where music can meet other parts of the curriculum. As a pedagogue, you are secure, clear, and inspiring - you spark curiosity and create a desire to learn. You take initiative and want to be involved in developing both the teaching and the school's operations. Here you will meet engaged colleagues, so we value your good cooperation skills and willingness to contribute to collegial learning.
