About the position

We are now welcoming a new colleague to our construction and civil engineering program at the national upper secondary school for the deaf and hard of hearing. You will teach students specializing in house construction. In your role as a teacher, you will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching, while actively supporting and motivating students in their development, both socially and academically. We work in teams, and the work group is collectively responsible for workshops and equipment, students' workplace learning (APL), company contacts, and other forms of collaboration.

Examples of tasks:

• Teaching vocational subjects within the Construction and Civil Engineering program
• Monitoring students' progress and study plans
• Joint planning with colleagues

About the workplace

Tullängsgymnasiet is a modern technical upper secondary school in southern Örebro with high appeal. The school has close cooperation with local businesses. We offer vocational training in Construction and Civil Engineering, Computer Communication, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Transport, and Plumbing/HVAC. We also offer the university-preparatory Technology program. Tullängsgymnasiet has approximately 1,200 students and 200 employees.

Qualifications

We look for a teacher who has a flexible approach to their surroundings, is creative, and finds it easy to build new relationships. The position requires humility, openness, and flexibility. We expect you to be a team player with personal drive. You are trustworthy in your communication and solution-focused when meeting students, guardians, and colleagues. You work independently and the role requires you to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You must master the Swedish language to a level that allows you to communicate with students and other staff, as well as document activities in writing as required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Qualified teacher in vocational subjects within the construction field or equivalent eligibility to teach at upper secondary school and/or adult education, or qualified professional experience in relevant areas
• Competence in house construction
