We are now looking for you who want to work approx. 85 % (a mix of day, afternoon, and awake night shifts) for a young boy with a severe CP disability who needs support around the clock. We are looking for you who are an engaged and reliable person who thrives in a meaningful role where you contribute to the boy's quality of life. About the assignment You will work as a personal assistant for a cheerful and social boy in his mid-teens who lives with a severe CP disability and has difficulties with movement and mobility. He also has a severe hearing impairment. Besides school, the boy has a great interest in playing games, horse riding, being out in nature, and spending time with his family and other people. He wants to be involved when things are happening and enjoys coming up with activities. He appreciates an active and varied daily life, but where routines and predictability are important to create security and stability. Your role involves being a support in his daily life both at home, at school, and during various activities. This means you will follow along with everything that happens in the boy's life and provide physical and communicative support in all conceivable situations. You will become an important part of a team that works actively to give him a meaningful existence based on his own needs, wishes, and conditions. The home, where most shifts start and end, is an 8-minute walk from the bus stop Storgatan in Staffanstorp. Who are we looking for? We are looking for you who are secure, structured, perceptive, and meticulous as a person. Our team needs you who are proactive, fearless, and responsible. Since the boy has some challenges in social interaction and communication, it is crucial that you can read situations and express yourself in a clear and adapted way. The boy is sensitive to infections, so you must follow good hygiene routines and stay home even with a mild cold.

There is a pet allergy in the family, but if you come in clean clothes, it is fine to have your own pets.

It is a requirement that you are smoke- and snus-free. It is a requirement that you are swim competent and can tolerate chlorine. It is a requirement that you can tolerate pets and are not afraid of horses. We would like you to have experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and/or sign language, but the most important thing is that you want to learn this. Previous experience as a personal assistant or working with people with disabilities is desirable, but not a requirement. Working hours and introduction The boy has 24/7 assistance with awake nights. Your introduction will primarily take place during day/evening hours, but after the introduction, you will also work awake night shifts.
