Ljungbacken Preschool is Hiring a Childcare Worker

Ljungbacken Preschool is located on the Ljungbacken school campus in Käppala, on southern Lidingö, with close proximity to both nature and water. The preschool has four units: two units for children aged 1-3 and two units for children aged 4-6. The educators collaborate extensively between the units, as well as between the preschool and the school located on the same campus. The preschool works actively with accessibility and special pedagogy to ensure every child has the opportunity to receive the education they are entitled to. There is a strong focus on play, language, and mathematics during the autumn term of 2026 at our preschool.

Lidingö Municipality has 20 municipal preschools. They differ in pedagogical focus, composition of children and staff groups, layout of premises, and work plans. What unites them is the mission to lay the foundation for lifelong learning, based on the Education Act and the Swedish National Agency for Education's curriculum for the preschool.

Job Responsibilities

As a childcare worker, you work together with educators to create a safe, developmental, fun, and stimulating environment for the children. You participate actively in daily operations and support the children's learning, play, and social development.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Acting as a participating educator, both in planned and spontaneous activities
Caring for and supporting children in their daily routines
Participating in pedagogical activities, play, and outdoor time
Contributing to a safe and positive environment for children and guardians
Collaborating with colleagues in planning and implementing operations
Assisting with meals, rest, and hygiene routines
Observing and noting children's needs and development
Following the operations' routines and value base

Qualifications

We are looking for a childcare worker for a term substitute position for the autumn term 2026. It is meritorious if you have a childcare education and experience in long-term pedagogical work with younger children. You have a genuine interest in children of various ages and speak Swedish well. Flexibility within our operations is also extremely important.

The children themselves are looking for a kind, safe, and fun educator who enjoys playing. At Lidingö Municipality, we work based on the values of engaged, professional, and initiative-taking. Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.

Salary: The municipality applies individual salary setting.
