We have made our decision! We aim to become a leading municipality – and we have everything it takes to succeed. Short decision-making paths, collaboration across operational boundaries, and the willingness to dare more. Our high ambitions give you, with your own drive, opportunities to grow and create positive change for the citizens. As an employee of Ekerö Municipality, you will have a valuable role in our unique archipelago world – and we look forward to your application.
The Child and Youth Unit is one of four units within IFO (Individual and Family Care). The unit consists of an investigation group and a placement group. We work to investigate needs for protection and support, as well as to follow up on approved measures according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and the Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Disabilities (LSS) for children. The other units within IFO are: Reception and Adult Unit, Open Care Unit, and Economic Assistance Unit.
Job Description
Within Individual and Family Care, we work in small teams, which gives you close proximity to both colleagues and managers. We sit together in shared premises where employees, support functions, and managers collaborate across unit boundaries – this gives us good conditions to find the best solution for our citizens and clients. We work without hierarchy and learn from each other.
We are now looking for a social worker who wants to work as a specialist investigator in the investigation group at the Child and Youth Unit. As a specialist investigator, you are responsible for investigating and making decisions according to SoL and LVU, as well as following up on certain measures for children and young people aged 0–20. Being a specialist investigator means being responsible for cases of a complex nature and, as an experienced colleague, supporting and introducing social secretaries in the investigation work within social services. As a specialist investigator, you will have the opportunity to deepen your work in cases that require more extensive investigations and contribute to the development of the investigation work.
You are expected to have a good ability to create trusting and continuous relationships, as well as good knowledge of children and child development. You need to have at least 5 years of experience in investigation work with children and young people within social services. The position involves collaborating with key actors around the child/young person and their family. We are looking for you who want to make a difference!
In Ekerö Municipality, compared to other municipalities, we have a relatively low inflow of cases, which gives time for both reflection and development. Here, we have time to work through cases thoroughly and are constantly seeking new ways to reach our citizens and develop together with them. We have a sound economy, which provides greater opportunities for good solutions for clients. This also gives us the opportunity to take good care of our employees; we offer, among other things, extra days off during holiday periods and half-days before public holidays. Here, you can also exchange holiday pay for additional vacation days.
We have good opportunities for flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work – here, as a social secretary, you have great opportunities to structure your work in a way that suits you.
Our office is located centrally in Ekerö, just 15 minutes by bus from Brommaplan or 5 minutes from Jungfrusund (ferry Ekeröleden). For those traveling from Stockholm city, the shuttle boat 89 departs from Klara Mälarstrand via Lilla Essingen and Ekensberg.
We work with BBIC, MI, and Signs of Safety. We offer you training in the methods we use and work actively with supervision.
Here, there are good career opportunities for those who want to grow and develop in their professional role!
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must:
- have a degree in Social Work (Socialsekreterare/Socionom)
- have at least 5 years of experience in investigation work with children and young people in social services.
- have good knowledge of children and child development as well as good knowledge of parenthood
- have a good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing
- be analytical, structured, have good administrative skills, and be orderly
- have courage, strength, commitment, and a desire to make a difference for children and young people
A B-category driver's license is meritorious but not a requirement.
To thrive here, you are engaged, genuinely interested in meeting and understanding people, and curious to learn new things and develop. We would like you to contribute to us having fun together at work.
We are continuously conducting selections and interviews, so please submit your application as soon as possible.
Start Date: According to agreement
Employment Type: Full-time
Contract: Permanent
