The Health and Social Care Administration provides service, support, care, and assistance to the elderly and people with disabilities, and is responsible for official duties according to current legislation. The administration operates within elderly care, LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), social psychiatry, health and medical care, next-of-kin support, and official duties. All work is performed with the citizen in focus, based on our core values; respect, participation, trust, and security. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a contact person, you primarily function as a friend and fellow human being.

You serve as a support and conversation partner, offer advice on everyday matters, and support the individual in living an active life outside the home, for example, by doing fun things together. All with the aim of reducing social isolation.

You meet twice a month (two to four hours per visit).

You decide together when and where you meet, and what activities you engage in.

The assignment is voluntary, but you receive compensation for your effort in the form of an honorarium and expense allowance according to SKR (Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions) guidelines.

CLIENT DESCRIPTION

A 40-year-old man with mental illness who enjoys music events, talking about fishing and football, and playing guitar at home.

QUALIFICATIONS

No specific education is required to be a contact person. What is important is that you are sensitive and empathetic, calm, very patient, and skilled at motivating. You should have a strong commitment to people and a desire to build a relationship that lasts over a longer period.
