We are looking for an engaged preschool teacher or childcare worker who wants to help develop our preschool and our pedagogical work. The ideal candidate is pedagogically driven, caring, and thrives in interaction with children. You have good communication skills and collaborate in a trusting manner with children, guardians, staff, and the board. As we are a small preschool with close proximity between families and educators, creativity, sensitivity, and teamwork are valuable traits.

The preschool emphasizes security, care, and community. Terra Nova operates as a parent cooperative with an association and a board. Educators and guardians contribute in various ways to shape an open, warm, and family-like place that puts the child's best interests first.

At Terra Nova, you will be one of five permanent educators in a group of 24 children, divided into three age groups. You will be involved in driving the daily pedagogical work, where there are great opportunities for your own initiatives and influence over the design of the work. Here, you will work in an equal-opportunity staff group and get to know engaged parents who have actively chosen our preschool because they believe in our working methods and values.

Competence and Experience

Qualifications:

• Preschool teacher education or other relevant education in pedagogy.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Extensive work experience within preschools.
• Experience with a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach.
• Interest in and experience working with children and art, music, or other cultural expressions.
• Focus on outdoor pedagogy, movement, and motor skills.
• Active work with "equal conditions", gender equality, and the equal value of all people.

About Preschool Terra Nova

Preschool Terra Nova has been around for nearly 20 years and is based on the pedagogical philosophy of Reggio Emilia. We have approximately 25 children aged 1–5 years. We work in project form, and the children's own interests and curiosity are important for initiating and driving projects.

The preschool is located in Almby in a house with its own garden. We regularly use the forest and parks in our education, and we happily take our three electric cargo bikes when we want to go a bit further away.

The preschool is run as a parent cooperative and economic association where the educators, under the leadership of the principal, have pedagogical responsibility and drive the daily work at the preschool. The parents run the administration and operation of the association through the board, working groups, and cleaning responsibilities. The board is also the employer.

• If you are called for an interview, we would like you to prepare an example of a concrete pedagogical project that illustrates your pedagogical worldview and how you interact and work together with children and staff.

The Employment

• Full-time or part-time permanent position (we apply a probationary period).
• Fixed monthly salary.
• Start date by agreement.
