We are looking for 1–2 teaching assistants (amanuenses) for a summer project at the Department of Automotive Engineering, within the Division of Systems and Control (ISY).

About the job

The Department of Automotive Engineering conducts research in areas such as electrification and how changes in electricity consumption – for example, smart charging, stationary battery storage, and solar cells – affect the power grid. As part of several student projects, we have developed code for power grid simulation, which is used to analyze the effects of new electricity consumption solutions and the possibilities for controlling them. In this role, you will further develop functionality for simulation and optimization based on power grid models.

The work covers approximately six weeks during the period of June to August. The department provides a workspace and supervision during the project.

About you

To be employed as an amanuensis, you must be admitted to a university-level program at the first or second cycle (bachelor's or master's level). Ongoing Master of Science studies at LiTH are meritorious. You have good knowledge of C++ from relevant programming courses and experience in code development for power grid simulation. You also have good academic results in general.

We are also looking for someone who is responsible and has good ability to work independently.

The Department of Automotive Engineering conducts research as well as undergraduate and graduate education in autonomous systems, electrification, battery systems, diagnostics and prognostics, and modeling and control of vehicle functions. About the employment

You will be employed on an hourly basis with a workload of up to 50% of full-time. The workload corresponds to approximately 4–6 weeks and should take place during the period June–August, but can be adjusted by agreement.

Employment as an amanuensis is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
