As an educator here, you will work with a wonderful group of students who stimulate the development of your own teaching every day. Our adapted primary school in Eskilstuna is locally integrated into two primary schools, Djurgårdsskolan and Årbyskolan. Together, we welcome around 140 students from grades 1-9 with varying degrees of intellectual/physical disabilities, and some students also have NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) diagnoses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for you who are engaged, flexible, and have a strong focus on the student. In this role, you work in a promoting and preventive capacity in close collaboration with teachers, student health services, other staff, and school leadership to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. During the workday, you meet students in need of special support. As a mentor for students in grades Pre-K to 3, you are responsible for supporting the students' knowledge-based and social development in close cooperation with guardians and colleagues. The position also includes teaching in theoretical subjects where you plan, conduct, assess, and follow up on teaching based on the students' needs and prerequisites.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a trained special needs teacher with a specialization in intellectual disability. Alternatively, you have a primary school teacher's degree with the ambition to study to become a special needs teacher. It is positive if you have experience teaching in pedagogical activities and feel confident with Lgr22 or Lgra22. If you also have experience working with students in need of special support, this is highly meritorious.

You have a strong focus on the student and a desire to meet each student based on their individual prerequisites. Flexibility in approach allows you to adapt teaching to the situation and needs, while also having the ability to keep the group together and contribute to functional group teaching. You work with clarity and structure and create a safe and predictable learning environment. In your interactions with students, you have a low-affective approach and a calm, stable leadership style that contributes to work peace and trusting relationships.
