Job Description

Do you want to make a vital difference for vulnerable youth? Then the position of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people towards new and less risky ways of living. This is a resource employment, meaning you will work on all wards according to the needs of the operations. This requires you to be flexible and personally secure.

Your duties include ensuring that routines on the ward function as they should. You play a key role in the stability and security of our young people and clients, and you are responsible for the basics of daily life such as school attendance, cleaning, and cooking. You contribute to maintaining security on the institution according to our routines, where documentation is an important part of your work. You work on building safe relationships and help ensure that our young people receive the security they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with a team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our engagement, and our attitude.

Working hours are according to schedule, day–evening, and weekends.

The work schedule for treatment assistants is commuter-friendly and well adapted even for those who live a bit further away. During a month, you make approximately four trips to Visingsö. Compressed working hours provide nine days of continuous leave every third week.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training over 10 weeks. The training alternates between theory and a supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is the key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. It is equally important that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the capacity to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You must also meet the following requirements:

  • At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from institutional placements, psychiatry, HVB (home for care or care home) operations, or from healthcare and social care.
  • Category B driver's license.
  • Good command of Swedish in speech and writing.

At SiS, we value good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
