Special Needs Teacher in Mathematics at Sätoftaskolan

Sätoftaskolan is a grades F-9 school with an associated after-school center. The school also hosts the municipality's adapted primary school. The school is beautifully located near a lake and forest with an inspiring outdoor environment. It is possible to travel to and from the school using public transport.

Approximately 500 students attend the school. The school has one principal and two deputy principals. The staff is divided into various work teams and teaching groups led by the school's team leaders/head teachers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special needs teacher with a focus on mathematics, you will work closely with students, teachers, and the student health team to identify needs, plan interventions, and follow up on support measures. You are an important part of the school's work to create good conditions for all students' learning and development.

The role includes:

• Taught students in need of special support in mathematics, individually and in small groups
• Map, analyze, and follow up on students' knowledge development and identify needs for support in mathematics
• Conduct pedagogical assessments and contribute to the work with investigations regarding special support
• Plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate special pedagogical support measures and action plans
• Collaborate with subject teachers, mentors, guardians, and the student health team
• Supervise and support colleagues regarding extra adaptations and accessible mathematics teaching
• Contribute to the development of teaching, learning environments, and adaptations within mathematics
• Participate in the school's systematic quality work and development work for increased goal achievement

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

• Have a special needs teacher degree with a focus on mathematics
• Have experience working with students in need of special support
• Have a good ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues
• Have knowledge of pedagogical assessments, extra adaptations, action plans, and special support
• Have the ability to work independently while valuing collaboration and collegial learning
• Have a good ability to analyze student learning and adapt teaching based on needs
• Have an inclusive and solution-focused approach with the student's best interest in focus
• Have good digital competence and are accustomed to using digital tools as support in teaching and documentation

PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in primary school
• Experience supervising colleagues or working in the student health team
• Experience with accessible learning environments and language- and knowledge-developing approaches

Salary: Monthly salary.

The position will be filled subject to the necessary political decisions being made and provided it does not need to be taken for internal use.
