About the position

We are looking for a certified upper secondary school teacher in Physical Education and Swedish, as well as Swedish as a Second Language. The teaching position is based at two of Riksgymnasiet's schools: Tullängsgymnasiet and Rudbecksgymnasiet.

Examples of duties:

• plan, implement, and evaluate teaching
• use methods and approaches that lead to the best possible achievement of goals
• act as a mentor/perform homeroom teacher duties
• support students' social development and upbringing
• create a good learning environment
• stay updated on current research within your field of operation
• know and follow the organization's applicable laws, policies, and routines
• work and document in the existing operational systems

About the workplace

Riksgymnasiet for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is located at Rudbecksgymnasiet, Tullängsgymnasiet, and Virginska gymnasiet. The position is based at Rudbecksgymnasiet and Tullängsgymnasiet.

We are an organization with approximately 100 employees and about 250 students from all over Sweden. Our students are deaf, hard of hearing, or have language disorders, and require instruction in Swedish Sign Language or spoken Swedish with hearing technology. A large portion of the students participate in an introductory program.

Riksgymnasiet is part of the Upper Secondary Education and Employment Administration. Here, 1,400 employees work in a variety of roles to provide young people and adults in Örebro with the same opportunities for education and self-sufficiency. Within the administration, there is expertise in many different areas and operations, meaning you as an employee have great opportunities for professional development in a creative and varied environment.

Qualifications

As a person, you are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work. You have strong pedagogical skills and an understanding of people's different prerequisites for acquiring knowledge. You are a communicative person who is a good listener and adapts your communication style. You have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a thoughtful and flexible manner. To succeed in your pedagogical work, you must master the Swedish language to the extent that you can communicate with students, guardians, and other staff, and that you can document the work in writing as required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• teacher certification with eligibility to teach Physical Education, Swedish, and Swedish as a Second Language, or an eligible degree that qualifies for certification
• knowledge of Swedish Sign Language
