WE WANT SWEDEN'S HAPPIEST RESIDENTS. ARE YOU WITH US?
In Flens Municipality, we are committed to building something long-term. A society where people thrive, grow, and stay. Our new and bold vision, Flen – Sweden's Happiest Municipality, is more than just words. It is a direction we have chosen together and a reminder of who we are here for. In every meeting with a resident, in every decision we make, in every day we shape – we should think with our hearts. And it starts with us. We are now looking for three qualified teachers for our three special education groups, divided into: F-3, 4-6, and 7-9 at Stenhammar School.
HERE ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Stenhammar School – a K-9 school where the heart beats for the students, with knowledge and development in focus – has approximately 650 students and is centrally located in Flen. Here, we see differences as a strength and diversity as an asset for both students and staff. Our school should be a safe, inclusive, and inspiring place where everyone has the opportunity to develop, both academically and socially.
Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities in this position involve ensuring that our students in our special education groups receive good support in their learning. An important part of this responsibility is working to adapt the learning environment based on each student's individual needs and meeting the students exactly where they are in their development. You will, individually and together with your colleagues, plan, implement, and evaluate the pedagogical work based on the school's governing documents. You are the hub in the network who sees the whole picture of the students' learning and is present as support throughout the entire school day. Together with other teachers, you contribute to creating a holistic approach around the students.
Qualifications
To succeed in this assignment, you need to have a good ability to plan your subjects and lead your students based on the Swedish compulsory school curriculum. As a leader, you need the ability to see your students' changing needs and interests. You need to have an inclusive working approach, based on good pedagogical insight and a well-thought-out view of knowledge and students. For this position, it is necessary that you have good knowledge and experience of working with students' varying challenges related to NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders).
Even though your main task is to be responsible for teaching in one of our special education groups, it is important that you can maintain a holistic perspective where you are interested in and work for the entire school's development work. To thrive in this role, it is therefore important that you value collaboration with other professions at the school, that you are structured but still flexible, and thus can quickly adapt to changed circumstances. You also need to be good at, and see the value in, creating good contacts with guardians. You also care about maintaining clear documentation regarding your students.
Being trained as a special education teacher or having education within special pedagogy is an advantage.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
WHY WORK WITH US?
In Flens Municipality, we want to give you good conditions to thrive both at and outside of work. We offer, among other things, a wellness allowance and reimbursement for patient fees up to the high-cost protection limit – and there are more benefits than that. Many of our workplaces also have good commuting opportunities. You can read more about what it is like to work with us on the municipality's website: flen.se.
READY TO APPLY?
During the interview, you need to show valid identification, such as a passport or national ID card. A driver's license together with a personal registration certificate (downloadable via the Swedish Tax Agency) is also acceptable. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you need to show that you have a valid work permit or that you are exempt from the requirement.
About the position:
- Scope: Full-time, permanent (probation may apply).
- Start date: According to agreement.
- Salary: Individual salary setting.
- Application deadline: 2026-06-07. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis.

- Union representatives can be reached via Contact Center, 0157-43 00 00.
OBS! If you have protected personal data, you should not submit your application via our system. Contact the municipality's website or the Contact Center for instructions.
