Grums Municipality is seeking two Social Secretaries for the Children and Young People Unit

We are now looking for two social secretaries for our Children and Young People Unit within the Individual and Family Care services in Grums Municipality. The unit works to promote safety, development, and well-being for children, young people, and their families. Our mission is to provide support and protection to children and young people in vulnerable life situations.

The Individual and Family Care in Grums is divided into two units – one for adults/LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and one for children and young people. Together, we are approximately 20 dedicated employees with diverse backgrounds and experience. We create a pleasant work environment with good dynamics, where we support each other and work closely together in our daily tasks.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of a social secretary, you will work with both preventive measures and official duties. Your main responsibilities include:

• Handling and investigating child welfare cases for children and young people aged 0–20 years according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU).
• Making decisions on interventions and following up on them.
• Ensuring professional meetings with the child and family in focus, where the best interests of the child are always guiding.
• Collaborating with guardians, schools, healthcare, and other internal and external actors.

The work is broad and varied, involving both complex and developmental cases. You work closely with the child, their family, and network.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work and a B-category driver's license, as well as good knowledge of the Social Services Act and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU).

Experience working within individual and family care, particularly in investigative work, is meritorious. If you have also worked with Procapita and are trained in BBIC (Benchmarks of Safety), we see this as an advantage.

As a person, you have a genuine interest in people and the ability to combine a professional official duty with warmth and commitment. The work is characterized by a structured and independent approach, where curiosity, courage, and a desire to develop are important driving forces. You express yourself well in speech and writing, have a non-hierarchical attitude, and contribute to good collaborations both internally and externally to achieve common goals.
