We are looking for a Leisure-Time Pedagogue at Valla School in Katrineholm

Schools in Katrineholm offer a safe and developmental education with creative learning as the focus. Here, children, students, and learners are given the prerequisites to develop their talents and thrive at their own pace. Within the Education and Labour Market Administration, we have preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, upper secondary schools, adapted upper secondary schools, reception units for newly arrived students, municipal activity responsibility, adult education, cultural schools, technical schools, central child and student health services, labour market units, and a Campus for higher studies.

Valla is a pleasant suburb only a 10-minute commute from Katrineholm. The community has a grades F-6 school with an associated leisure-time centre (after-school club) where approximately 30 pedagogues work with just over 200 students. The school offers functional premises that support the development of students' subject knowledge. In addition to classrooms and group rooms, the school has a home economics room, a music room, a science room, two craft rooms, a large library, and two sports halls. The pleasant outdoor environment encourages play and community.

This autumn, the leisure-time centre will have access to its own entirely separate premises, which will not be shared with school operations from the autumn term of 2026. All our classrooms and leisure-time centre activities are equipped with Smartboards. Staff have access to a Mac computer/iPad and a dedicated work phone.

Through close collaboration between pedagogues and school management, the school actively works to improve the quality of teaching. We have an approach where we see everyone's differences as a resource, and where safety, motivation, and joy are fundamental values at our school.

You will play a central role in the development of our leisure-time centre and help shape the future of the activity. For you who are driven by development and want to be part of building something new, we offer an exciting opportunity to make a real difference.

Your main focus will be on the pedagogical mission of the leisure-time centre and creating a safe, stimulating, and meaningful activity for the students. We also view it positively if you have a specialization in Sports & Health, Music, or Visual Arts & Crafts, a competence that can be used both in school and at the leisure-time centre.

The position includes team leader responsibility for our leisure-time centre, which currently consists of two departments. You lead and coordinate the team and drive the pedagogical development work forward together with your colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have education as a primary school teacher in leisure-time pedagogy/fritidspedagog. A teaching license is required, and experience is desirable. You have good knowledge of the leisure-time centre's mission based on the curriculum and other regulatory documents.
