Your new job

As a school counselor, you are an important part of the student health team and contribute a psychosocial perspective at the individual, group, and organizational levels. Your work is both preventive and promoting, focusing on strengthening students' conditions to feel well, develop, and achieve their goals.

Your role includes, among other things, serving as a support for students, guardians, and staff. You actively participate in the student health team's work together with the school nurse, special educator, special needs teacher, psychologist, deputy principal, and principal. Through your expertise in social work, you contribute to school development and work with both preventive and targeted interventions. The assignment includes conducting counseling support, observations, and social investigations, as well as making reports of concern and implementing interventions when necessary. You collaborate with external actors and supervise staff, while working closely with school leadership on issues concerning the school's well-being and development.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you with a degree in social work and experience working with children and young people. You have knowledge of the school's mission and the importance of psychosocial work in schools. We also expect you to have basic IT skills and good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Previous experience working within schools is an advantage.

The role of school counselor requires you to be a relationship builder with strong collaboration skills, being sensitive, flexible, and confident. As a person, it is important that you are engaged, creative, and responsible.
