About the role of 1st Social Secretary

As the 1st Social Secretary, you combine a clear leadership responsibility with your own investigation work. You lead the reception and investigation group in everyday life and contribute to high quality and legal security in the handling according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).

You step into a small and tight-knit group with four investigators and one reception secretary, where the focus is on good working environment, stability, and continuous development. You have close cooperation with family home secretaries and placement follow-up officers.

Right now, we are in the middle of exciting development work in the transition to a more knowledge-based, accessible, and preventive social services. As the 1st Social Secretary, you, together with the unit manager, drive the work forward – among other things through SSPF cooperation, our school social team, the working method Family Focus, and the development of "One Way In", a joint reception function for the entire social services.

Your tasks

You will, among other things:

  • Lead and distribute the daily work in reception and investigation, including prioritization in the inflow.
  • Handle and follow up on your own cases within children and young people.
  • Provide method and case support, quality assure assessments and documentation, and collaborate for sustainable solutions.

Who are you?

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to make qualified assessments, handle complex cases, and work with high professionalism – both independently and together with colleagues. Therefore, it is important that you:

  • Have a degree in Social Work (Swedish: Socionom).
  • Have extensive experience in authority exercises within children and young people.
  • Have BBIC training (Handling with the child in focus).
  • Experience in formal supervision duties and/or leadership roles.
  • Have a B-category driver's license.

It is advantageous if you also have experience of:

  • Signs of Safety.
  • iRisk.
  • The operation system Combine.
  • Cooperation with schools and other actors.

Initiative-taking – you see opportunities for improvement and drive development together with others, from idea to implementation.

Good judgment – you make well-founded assessments, document clearly, and make decisions with integrity and the best interests of the child in focus.
