At Olivia, we work together for everyone's right to live life to the fullest. We are now looking for another colleague to join our team. Is that you?
About the position
We are currently looking for an engaged female guide who speaks Persian and who wants to act as the extended senses of a fellow human being in everyday life. The main purpose of the support is to break isolation and enable an active life despite a severe visual impairment. As a guide, you are an important source of security during practical necessities such as doctor's visits and pharmacy errands, where you are responsible for safe movement all the way into the examination room. You help interpret the environment, read mail aloud, and ensure that healthcare staff introduce themselves, creating control and participation in important meetings.
A central part of the assignment is to provide visual guidance during walks and social activities. You walk half a step ahead so that the individual can hold your elbow, while you continuously describe the terrain, obstacles, and changes in the surroundings. Great emphasis is placed on your ability to interpret visually what is not said with words, such as facial expressions, gestures, and body language of other people. There is also a strong desire to expand social interaction to include restaurant visits or other public places. There, you assist by reading menus, describing the atmosphere, and orienting around the table. We are looking for someone who is sensitive and wants to offer person-centered support that gives the courage to take the step from practical necessities to a more enriching leisure time.
About you
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and can put themselves in the shoes of other individuals' needs. Furthermore, you should be sensitive, proactive, solution-focused, and engaged, as great importance is placed on personal suitability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent in the Persian language.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience supporting individuals with visual impairments.
Employment level: 8.7% or 15 hours per month.
The time is used flexibly, with day, evening, and weekend work possible.
Start date: The selection process is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. We warmly welcome your application.
Things to consider before applying:
A prerequisite for starting employment at Olivia is that you, as an applicant, can present a valid ID document and submit a tax certificate (personbevis) as well as any documents proving the right to work in Sweden. You can easily download the tax certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency's website.
Due to the fact that the position may involve solo work, night work, and tasks that, according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations (AFS 2012:3), cannot be performed by minors, you must be at least 18 years old.
If you wish to work with children and young people under 18, you need to present an extract from the criminal record. It is important to order the extract well in advance, as the Police's processing time may vary. In light of a legislative change from March 1, 2026, the register check will be expanded to include both extracts from the criminal record and extracts from the suspicion register.
You can easily order the extracts with BankID via this link: https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/barn-med-funktionsnedsattning/ (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/barn-med-funktionsnedsattning/)
We recommend that you ensure you have current extracts according to the new rules.
About the recruitment process: If you give your consent, we can share your profile with our sister companies if your profile matches another position within Team Olivia.
For you with Employment Support:
Olivia is an inclusive company. We welcome all applicants, including those who are entitled to some form of employment support through the Swedish Public Employment Service. It is voluntary to state this information in your application, or you can also inform us during a potential interview.
About collective agreements and benefits at Olivia:
As an employee, you are covered by a collective agreement, and of course, you are insured on the way to and from work in case something unforeseen happens.
