Within the Social Services of Sundbyberg Municipality, development work is ongoing with preventive parenting support as a key component. We build operations with a long-term and sustainable approach, with collaboration as a guiding principle. In line with this, we have created a new position and are now looking for you who want to work preventively with parents of children aged 12 to 18.

The position belongs to the Support and Treatment Unit. There are 15 positions here, mostly divided into two teams, working with preventive parenting support and domestic violence, respectively. Here you will find qualified colleagues with extensive knowledge, commitment, willingness to collaborate, lack of hierarchy, care, and creativity.

The Parent Counseling Center addresses all parents in Sundbyberg with children between 0 and 18 years old. Parents come to us voluntarily or are referred. We offer, among other things, counseling and support sessions, parent groups, and dialogue and information meetings. The role also involves close collaboration with other actors who have children, young people, and parents as their target group.

An important part of the work is to find new arenas and collaboration partners to reach parents who otherwise have difficulty finding us. The position requires you to think and work broadly and flexibly. You must be willing to move between different locations during your workday to meet with parents and partners. Evening shifts occur, for example, in parent group activities and other types of meetings with parents. Some weekend work is also required, for example, during various municipal events.

Qualifications

• You must be a social worker (socionom) or have another degree that the employer considers equivalent.
• You should have experience in parenting support, preferably universal and selective.
• You are welcome to have education and experience in working with parenting support programs, as well as in-depth knowledge and experience in working with young people.
• You are also welcome to have education within the family systems area.
• You need to have an interest and experience in reaching and working with parents who have low levels of trust in and knowledge of the social services and other parts of Swedish society.
• You must also have good knowledge of the mandates of the social services and other authorities, as the role as a parenting supporter includes referring parents further when they need more or different types of support.

The nature of the work means that we place great emphasis on your personal qualities and ability to take personal responsibility and collaborate in particular. You must enjoy collaborating and informing about the operations' mandate in both large and small contexts. You need to have a good ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as to creatively drive processes forward.

The position is a permanent full-time employment.

Start date is by agreement.
