About the School

The school is beautifully located on Gnestahöjden, a ten-minute walk from Gnesta train station and 40 minutes from Stockholm Central Station. The main organization is a non-profit association founded in 1993. Gnesta is a growing municipality, and we are a modern Waldorf school that is constantly growing and developing, with approximately 190 students ranging from preschool class to grade 9, as well as after-school activities.

Gnesta Waldorf School is characterized by a holistic view of the students, aiming to develop the whole person – thought, feeling, and will. Key features of our pedagogy include working with cross-curricular theme periods and integrating creative activities such as art, crafts, and music into all school subjects.

The Position

The position is a permanent part-time role at 60%, starting with a six-month probationary period. An additional 20% may be possible during the 2026/2027 academic year. The start date is August 10, 2026.

Job Description

As a Special Needs Teacher at Gnesta Waldorf School, you will work preventively, promotively, and remedially to help our students meet the knowledge requirements. You will collaborate with our teachers as part of our Student Health Team (SHT), which consists of a special needs educator, counselor, school nurse, and principal, to provide our students with what they need to develop as far as possible.

Your Qualifications

You hold a degree as a Special Needs Teacher. You have a strong commitment and interest in creating the best conditions for students. You are analytical, structured, and goal-oriented. You are communicative and inspiring. You are flexible in your working methods and have a natural ability to collaborate.

You have basic IT skills.

You have experience with Waldorf pedagogy or a strong interest in learning about it.

Requirements

  • State teaching license or Waldorf teaching license.
  • Degree as a Special Needs Teacher.
