About the School
The school is beautifully located on Gnestahöjden, a ten-minute walk from Gnesta train station, and 40 minutes from Stockholm Central Station. The governing body is a non-profit association founded in 1993. Gnesta is a growing municipality, and we are a modern Waldorf school that is constantly growing and developing, with nearly 190 students ranging from preschool class to year 9, as well as after-school care.
Gnesta Waldorf School is characterized by a holistic view of the students, aiming to develop the whole person – thought, feeling, and will. Some key features of our pedagogy include working with interdisciplinary thematic periods and integrating creative activities such as art, crafts, and music into all school subjects.
The Position
The position is a permanent employment of 80-100%, starting with a six-month probationary period. The start date is August 10, 2026.
Job Description
We are looking for you who want to work as a teacher in Year 1, with the Swedish National Curriculum (Lgr 22) as a clear foundation and Waldorf pedagogy as the method and working approach.
You will be part of a work team that collaboratively works to help students reach their highest potential.
As a class teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the students' education, both individually and together with colleagues, student health services, and school management. You will also promote good relationships with students, staff, and guardians through meetings and documentation.
Qualifications
- State teaching license or Waldorf teacher license.
- You have a knack for creating a creative environment for students, where relationship building is a natural part of daily life.
- You have the ability to awaken curiosity and wonder in your students.
- Knowledge of and/or interest in Waldorf pedagogy, and the desire to develop as a teacher and human being.
- Several years of experience in the profession is an advantage.
