About the School

The school is beautifully located on Gnestahöjden, a ten-minute walk from Gnesta train station, and 40 minutes from Stockholm Central Station. The governing body is a non-profit association founded in 1993. Gnesta is a growing municipality, and we are a modern Waldorf school that is constantly growing and developing, with just under 190 students distributed from preschool class to grade 9 and after-school care.

Gnesta Waldorf School is characterized by a holistic view of students, aiming to develop the whole person – thought, feeling, and will. Key features of our pedagogy include working with interdisciplinary theme periods and integrating creative activities such as art, crafts, and music into all school subjects.

The Position

This is a permanent position at 90–100% workload, starting with a six-month probationary period. The start date is August 10, 2025.

Job Description

We are looking for you who want to lead the work within your subjects, grounded in Waldorf pedagogy.

You will therefore teach both music in grades 2–9 and Spanish in grades 5–9.

You will be part of a team working together to help students reach their highest potential.

As a subject teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating student instruction, individually and in collaboration with colleagues, student health services, and school leadership. You will also promote good relationships with students, staff, and guardians through meetings and documentation.

Qualifications

• State teaching license or Waldorf teacher license.
• You have a talent for creating a creative environment for students, where play, nature experiences, and relationship building are a natural part of everyday life.
• You have the ability to awaken curiosity and wonder in your students.
• Interest in Waldorf pedagogy and the desire to develop as a teacher and human being.
• Several years of experience in the profession is meritorious but not required.
