About the Position

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Health Sciences with a specialization in physiotherapy/rehabilitation. The position is part-time at 60% of full-time equivalent and is fixed-term for 12 months. The start date is August 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed, with placement in the research group "Rehabilitation and Sustainable Health".

Description

The role involves work within two projects: 40% of the working time is dedicated to a research project concerning recovery and residual problems 3 and 12 months after ischemic stroke. Data collection is largely complete, and during the coming year, the work will focus on analyzing data and compiling manuscripts. An additional 10% of the working time is dedicated to a research project at Karolinska Institutet concerning physical activity after stroke. Some teaching (10%) is also included in the position.

The research is conducted in an interdisciplinary research environment involving researchers representing various directions within health sciences.

Responsibilities

The position includes tasks related to different parts of the research process, such as conducting data analyses of already collected data and scientific reporting of results. Responsibilities also include supervision, project administration, grant applications, etc. The appointed researcher will work both independently and in close collaboration with other researchers, both within their own research group and in other research groups at Lund University and Karolinska Institutet.

Requirements

  • Degree in Physiotherapy and a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen).
  • Ph.D. in Health Sciences, with a focus on rehabilitation and disability.
  • Documented experience in research on follow-ups in ischemic stroke.
  • Documented experience working with qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as good knowledge of statistics and longitudinal data.
  • The position requires very good skills in spoken and written Swedish and English.

Great importance will be attached to personal qualities and experience relevant to the position.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a research environment relevant to the projects.
  • Experience in teaching within physiotherapy/neurological rehabilitation.
