One of the hospital's most prominent departments is rheumatology. Here we have broad specialist knowledge within all rheumatological diseases, and our vision is to further develop this activity. We have invested significant effort in creating well-functioning processes and routines to ensure that work flows efficiently and that our patients can be cared for optimally. Expectations are high both within and outside the unit that we will continue to stay at the forefront, and we naturally follow national guidelines. We know that we are good at quickly finding solutions when faced with new challenges, and we can influence our own way of working.
The rheumatology department belongs to internal medicine at Visby Hospital. The clinic consists of two permanently employed rheumatologists who share their positions with other duties, along with several recurring substitutes. The clinic is largely supported by our three competent permanent nurses. We work in teams with access to physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.
In Gotland, healthcare operates on a smaller scale, offering the advantages of proximity and collaboration between different branches of activity. Nevertheless, we offer the resources of a large hospital in several respects and high competence in a number of areas. Accessibility to healthcare in Gotland remains among the highest in the country, both regarding getting a doctor's appointment and undergoing surgery.
The region has a cooperation agreement with Karolinska University Hospital in a number of areas, including healthcare development, competence development, and highly specialized care.
You will come to one of Sweden's most beautiful hospitals. Gotland is one of Sweden's pearls! Living and working here allows you to create a life with a quality of life that not many are privileged to experience.
We offer a development-oriented job where you will be able to shape and influence the activity together with engaged and knowledgeable colleagues in a positive and welcoming environment.

You have a consultative function towards other colleagues and departments at the hospital. Training of ST-doctors (specialists in training) and sometimes also AT-doctors (interns) is also part of the work, as well as lectures at internal training within internal medicine.
If you have another specialty, such as internal medicine, or a knowledge area that you can contribute to our activity, we will discuss how we can take advantage of that.
Who are you?
You are a specialist in rheumatology. You master the Swedish language in speech and writing.
Your personal qualities fit our workplace as you enjoy working in teams and following chronically ill patients. You are sensitive, cooperative, and contribute positive energy. You like to drive the activity forward together with other colleagues at the clinic. You are well-read and knowledgeable and wish to deliver high-quality rheumatological care. You enjoy discussing patients and treatment principles with other rheumatologists to support each other and maintain a shared perspective.
