The psychiatric area of responsibility within the Health and Medical Care Administration consists of inpatient psychiatric care, adult outpatient psychiatry, addiction care, and child and adolescent psychiatry. The operation has a total of approximately 110 employees.

The mandate of the area of responsibility is to provide psychiatric specialist care to adults and to provide care for mental health issues to all children and adolescents up to the age of 17. Psychiatric specialist care is provided at clinics and/or at home, as well as within inpatient care when necessary. With short decision-making paths, there are great opportunities to actively participate in and develop the clinic's working methods.

The operation offers a breadth in terms of both competence and services, which is a challenge given that the catchment area is relatively small both in terms of land area and population. The vision is a shared person-centered value base that is expressed in both patient meetings and meetings between employees and leaders. Therefore, the work is characterized by a person-centered approach where the patient is seen as a whole person with resources, opportunities, and involvement in care planning.

Your Responsibilities

As a nurse in inpatient care, you will be part of a team consisting of ten nurses in total. There are two wards, A and B, each with nine care beds. Ward A also has two beds for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP).

You are responsible for the psychiatric nursing of inpatients together with care assistants and nursing assistants. Standard nursing duties are included, such as ward rounds, medication distribution, conversations, and documentation. On weekends and evenings, you are responsible for our emergency clinic together with another nurse, both through telephone advice and visits to the clinic. There are always two nurses on duty, each responsible for one ward. During the night shifts, you are responsible for the emergency clinic, including telephone advice and visits to the clinic, together with care assistants.

As a new nurse in inpatient care, you will be paired with an experienced nurse who will act as your mentor during your first period on the ward, in addition to the nurse you undergo your introduction with.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training in psychiatry. If you have previous experience working in psychiatric nursing, we consider this a merit. Knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is also considered a merit.

A background check via an extract from the criminal record will be conducted prior to the decision on employment.
