Gotland's Resource School welcomes students with extensive needs for special support. We currently have approximately 60 students and about 30 employees. The students require adjustments in the pedagogical, social, and physical learning environment that are so significant they cannot be met in a regular school setting. The Resource School features smaller student groups, specialized teacher competence, and opportunities for individually adapted support.

The Speech and Language program for grades F-6 is located in Väskinde, while grades 7-9 are located at Solbergaskolan.

Your Responsibilities

As a speech therapist in the speech and language classes, you will work largely directly with students, conducting assessments and treatments. The speech therapist may also provide language support in daily activities, such as during lessons and other student activities. The speech therapist is also tasked with supporting educators through consultation and supervision. You will be part of a work team with educators and special educators and are part of the Resource School's student health team, led by the principal. You will primarily work with grades 4-6 and 7-9.

The position includes:

• Conducting mappings and assessments of students' language and communication skills.
• Planning, implementing, and following up on speech therapy interventions at the individual and group levels.
• Contributing to the development of language-developing and communicative learning environments in teaching.
• Supervising and supporting staff in language- and communication-supporting methods.
• Collaborating closely with teachers, student health services, and school leadership in a cross-professional team.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a licensed speech therapist and have experience working with children and young people, preferably in a school setting.

You have knowledge of and experience working with students with general language disorders and other neurodevelopmental disorders (ND). You have a good understanding of the connection between language, communication, and learning, and good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. It is important that you have the ability to collaborate with other professional groups but also that you can work independently.

The position is a fixed-term contract for 6 months with the possibility of extension.
