About the School

Practical Gymnasium Nyköping offers students a concept where theory is mixed with practical exercises both inside the school and out at workplaces. At Practical, we set high demands on ourselves to create the best conditions for an educational and fun training. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: carpentry, painting, electrical work, hairdressing, styling, animal care, transport, and automotive mechanics. Currently, the school has approximately 220 students and about 28 employees.

Your Assignment

The position is a full-time position at 100% starting as agreed. You will teach and supervise our students within Child & Leisure (BF) and together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team. We see you as an important and driving force to, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues, develop both the program and the subject. In addition to job-specific tasks, you, like other teachers at the school, have duties such as mentor, and together you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Practical Gymnasium. We communicate mainly through Schoolsoft, StudyBee, and we work in a Google environment through sharing digital documents, calendars, and planning.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a certified vocational teacher. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You who lack teacher certification have the opportunity to apply for the position. You and the school principal will jointly draw up a plan for how you can become certified in the shortest way possible. The job duties include contact with business life as a large part of the students' study time consists of work-based learning (APL), and therefore good communication with employers is meritorious.

We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, and that you identify with our values and keywords. Our students are eager to enter the working life, and your biggest task is to lead them there!
