Västerbergslagens Utbildningsförbund,VbuDalarnas län, Ludvika
Previous experience is desired
Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium (VBU) is a municipal consortium that provides upper secondary education, adult education, vocational higher education, and commissioned training. We operate on behalf of the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. VBU has approximately 260 employees, around 3,000 students (including 1,000 at the Arts School), and an annual turnover of approximately 280 million SEK. Our operations are based in Ludvika, Smedjebacken, and Grängesberg. More information about our various schools can be found on our website.
In Ludvika and Smedjebacken, children and young people are important! We demonstrate this by placing children and young people at the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed toward children and youth have been consolidated under a single committee. This committee oversees preschools, primary and secondary schools, special needs schools, and social welfare. A common thread across all these operations is a conscious commitment to quality work, continuously developing and improving services for children and young people. The Arts School has been part of Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium since 2019.
Västerbergslagens Arts School has approximately 900 active students in the subjects of music, dance, theater, visual arts, and digital creation, with a total of 27 employees. The Arts School primarily serves children and young people but also accepts adult students. We have numerous orchestras and ensembles in which students can participate. In 2025, we held approximately 85 concerts and other outward-facing activities.
