Summer Job as Personal Assistant for a Young Woman with ALS in Jönköping

Do you want a summer job where you truly make a difference – every day? We are now looking for three to four personal assistants who can work throughout the summer for our client, a young woman with ALS living in Jönköping. The work consists mainly of day and evening shifts, but also night watches are included.

The client lives in a villa with her husband and leads a life characterized by closeness, calm, and a focus on appreciating the small golden moments of everyday life. She has lived an active life filled with travel and adventure, and although her body currently imposes limitations, her will, joy, and strength remain. As a personal assistant, you will become an important part of enabling her to continue living in her own way and maintaining her freedom in daily life.

The job involves being close to her throughout the day and supporting her with personal care, medication, and practical tasks at home. Since she directs her own assistance, you need to be adaptable, reliable, and empathetic, with a good ability to read situations and understand when to step forward and when to give space. You will be her extended arms and legs, but also a fellow human being who contributes to calm, warmth, and a good atmosphere in the home.

We are looking for someone who is stable, considerate, and has a calm demeanor towards people. You should be good at creating a sense of security, be flexible, and able to adapt to a pace different from your own. Since the client is a young woman, we prefer female applicants. There is a dog in the home, which means you must be able to work in an environment with fur animals. Experience in care or knowledge of PEG, ventilator, and cough assist machines is advantageous but not a requirement – personal chemistry and your ability to meet her are the most important factors.

In preparation for the summer, you will receive an introduction and shadowing together with an experienced colleague so that you feel secure in the role. We offer a stable summer employment, meaningful work, and the opportunity to continue working as a temporary substitute after the summer if you wish.
