Do you want to contribute to ensuring that the municipality's students receive a safe, creative, and educational school experience, while gaining valuable experience for the future? Are you available to step in and work extra hours with short notice?

We are looking to connect with individuals who can step in and work when our regular staff is absent. Sometimes the need arises with very short notice, but at other times, there is room for slightly longer planning of work shifts. Longer-term substitute positions may also become available in the future.

Our schools are located in Österbymo and Hestra. Preschools and after-school centers are available in Österbymo and Hestra, as well as in Asby and Rydsnäs. Depending on the circumstances, you may be required to work at any of these locations.

About the Work

There are various roles within the school system. Here is a brief description of what it is like to work as a substitute in these different roles:

• Substitute Teacher (Primary School): Daily responsibility and work with children and adolescents from preschool class to grade 9. As a teacher, your task is to independently conduct classroom instruction and support students. You can choose to work with grades F-6, 7-9, or both. You are expected to teach all subjects based on prepared lesson materials.
• After-School Educator: Your task is to provide a meaningful time at the after-school center before and after school. You also work during school hours, acting as support in the classroom.
• Student Assistant: You work with students who need extra support, either in the classroom, during breaks, or at the after-school center.
• Preschool Caregiver: Involves daily care of children aged 1-5 years. As a substitute, you might work with outdoor activities in the yard, assist with preschool meals, and more.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

We are looking for someone who, with joy and knowledge, wants to help provide students with a safe, creative, educational, and positive time at school. You are engaged and have a professional approach towards students, guardians, and colleagues. You take your own initiatives and can work independently. You should be interested in providing good care and teaching to encourage students' development and learning.

Since communication is an important part of school, it is a requirement that you have a good command of the Swedish language in speech, writing, and comprehension. Having a driver's license and access to a car is an asset.

Having relevant education or experience working with children and young people is positive but not a requirement. Perhaps you are curious about working in the school world and are considering studying in this field. This is a great first step.

More Information About the Position
