Do you want to work with us?

We are currently looking for a Social Worker for a permanent position within our unit.

You will become part of an engaged, competent, and responsible operation that values you and your expertise. Working in a smaller municipality like Finspång means close proximity to colleagues within the unit as well as other operations, enabling us to provide the right support to residents who are in need and entitled to assistance.

Your future responsibilities

Financial assistance is part of the Individual and Family Care within the Social Care sector. The Social Care sector employs approximately 300 staff members and operates within LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), social psychiatry, individual and family care, financial assistance, and the labor market unit.

The Financial Assistance unit consists of six social workers and one coordinator. It is part of the same unit as LSS authority operations and budget and debt counseling.

The work as a social worker in Financial Assistance involves authority operations and social change work. The main assignment is to support individuals on their path to self-sufficiency and to investigate the right to financial assistance according to the Social Services Act. The social workers base their change work on the progression measurement study Beskæftigelses Indikator Projektet (BIP).

Our goal is a qualified investigative work characterized by good treatment, well-founded decisions, and high legal security. It is an enjoyable job with great variety, different assignments, and many contacts, offering a wide range of tasks.

Support in daily work is provided through daily collaboration with colleagues, case management with the coordinator, and weekly method meetings. These meetings also provide space for competence and development work. Working on the development of the operation is part of the job.

The work includes close collaboration with colleagues at the labor market unit. Cooperation also takes place with external parties such as the region, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan), and the Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen).

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work or equivalent education. Previous experience in authority operations is an asset. We appreciate good knowledge of current legislation, good empathetic ability, and good collaborative skills. The tasks place high demands on personal responsibility and initiative. We place great importance on personal suitability and previous experience. We expect you to express yourself well in speech and writing.

Requirements

  • A driver's license (Category B) is a requirement.
  • Interviews will be held continuously during the application period. The position may be filled before the application period ends, so we ask that you do not delay your application.
  • Start date: 2026-08-10 or by agreement.
  • Application deadline: 2026-05-03.
