Karinslundsskolan – A Small School with Great Opportunities

Karinslundsskolan is a small school with great opportunities. We currently have approximately 140 students in grades Pre-K through Grade 6. Our team consists of 16 dedicated staff members who focus on learning and safety throughout the entire school day, including after-school care. Collaboration and work ethic are high here. You will thrive with us if you have a high level of engagement in the work of developing students.

Our schoolyard is large and offers many different places for play and movement. In recent years, we have worked to develop the pedagogical environment during breaks. Today, our students feel there is much to do during breaks and that the activities are meaningful. We want to continue developing this, using the students' ideas as the foundation for our ongoing work.

We are now looking for you to work as an after-school teacher with responsibility for our break-time activities. Your task will be to make the schoolyard a continued oasis with activities, movement, and safety for all the school's students.

Number of positions: 1

Job Responsibilities

Your workday begins outside on the schoolyard. Here, you create the best start to the day for our students. You have the entire schoolyard and a well-stocked break hut at your disposal. Once the students have started their school day, you plan for the after-school activities and break-time events. From the very first break, you are ready to meet our students with activities and joy. You ensure we have a functioning break hut operation, clear expectations regarding how we play on our schoolyard, and a strong interest in the students' imagination and enthusiasm.

Your job will be to create clarity for the entire school regarding the important elements of the break. You will lead the school's staff regarding break-time activities. After the school day ends, the after-school care takes over, and together with the current after-school teachers, you will have a clear pedagogical idea of how the activities should proceed in the afternoon. You will lead your colleagues at the after-school care center in creating activities that meet the curriculum for after-school care and the students' needs.

This is a job for someone who still has a child's spirit and enjoys stepping into our students' imagination and play. However, it is also a job for someone who is clear in their leadership and can lead the school's staff regarding the break-time duties. Simply put, it's a fun job!

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has/is:

  • Qualified as an after-school teacher or a teacher currently studying to become one.
  • Experience working with children and young people in the association sector or equivalent experience working with children and youth movement.
  • Experience leading and developing processes within the school system.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
  • Accustomed to using IT/computers as support in your work.
  • Class B driver's license.

It is considered an asset if you have:

  • Leadership training within the association sector.
  • Previous experience working as a physical education teacher for children and young people.

As a person, you are positive and engaged, with a genuine interest in students' development and well-being. You are goal-oriented and work in a structured way to create safety, clarity, and meaningful contexts in the after-school care activities. Collaboration is a natural part of your working method, and you actively contribute to a good collegial climate.

To thrive with us, it is important that you, just like us, have a sense of humor and view the meeting with the student as the most important meeting of the workday. You build relationships with warmth and professionalism, meeting every student with curiosity, respect, and engagement.

We use continuous selection, so you are warmly invited to submit your application today!
