About Us

Öknaskolan and Nynäs Castle & Nature Reserve are part of Sörmlands Naturbruk, an operation within the area of Culture & Education, which is part of Region Sörmland. Öknaskolan is a nature management high school with 250 students, of which 160 live in the school’s dormitory. The school offers nature management education in agriculture, gardening, horse management, animal care, natural sciences, nature tourism, adapted upper secondary school, and vocational introduction. All production is conducted organically. Sörmlands Naturbruk is a unique operation in educational and cultural environments with properties around castles and nature reserves, covering 3,400 hectares, making it the largest on the Sörmland coast.

Your Responsibilities

The position involves teaching physical education and health for students in upper secondary school and adapted upper secondary school. You will be offered a stimulating job where further development is a given. Öknaskolan has a sports hall, outdoor football field, and a fantastic environment with forests, lakes, barbecue areas, and shelters, providing excellent conditions for outdoor life. We prefer that the teaching in physical education is linked to respective specializations and ergonomics to give our students good conditions for lifelong health and good living habits. The work also involves planning and collaboration in work teams to provide good conditions for students' education. As a teacher at Öknaskolan, you will be highly involved in the systematic quality work, values work, and pedagogical development. The position includes mentorship.

Your Qualifications

We primarily seek someone with a teaching license in physical education and health. Additional qualifications in other subjects are advantageous. You have good collaboration skills and are a clear leader in the classroom. You can adapt to different situations and easily create engagement and participation. Together with other staff, you take responsibility for the entire school's operations. You have the ability to see opportunities for integration between both subject areas and theory and practice.

A B driver's license is required.
