Teaching Assistants for Adapted Primary School F-6
Division Education has over 1900 employees, and together we work to provide children, youth, and adults with a good education. Our focus is to stimulate students' learning and development based on their own conditions. With us, you will find some of society's most important services, and you can be sure that your work will play a significant role in many people's lives.
We are responsible for 36 preschools, two preschool buses, 17 primary schools, adapted primary school, Nyköping High School, Adapted Upper Secondary School, and adult education at Campus Nyköping.
Nyköping is developing, construction is booming, more people are choosing to move here, and our school organization is growing. We are now looking for teaching assistants for Adapted Primary School F-6.
Our Organization
Our F-9 organization consists of 17 primary schools and Adapted School divided into seven different principal areas. In each principal area, there is a principal, several deputy principals, and a student health team comprising various professionals. With schools in rural and urban areas, we work to increase equity and integration within and between schools and to strengthen the quality of municipal primary education. It is about giving all students - regardless of school - the same opportunities for education and development.
In recent years, the focus has been on developing a plan for systematic quality work and a common language development approach for the entire organization. It is important for us that both at the management level and operational level, time is spent working on our common issues; therefore, there is scheduled time each week at every school for conferences, development work, collaboration projects, and more.
About the Principal Area
Adapted Primary School is an alternative to primary school for children with intellectual disabilities. It is available for grades 1 to 9. Grades 1-6 are located at Arnö School (Långsätter) and Gruvans School (Långberg). Grades 7-9 are at Nyköping High School.
In some cases, it is possible for a student to follow the adapted school's curriculum at the school where the student is already enrolled.
Långberg's Adapted Primary School is growing and therefore needs to be strengthened with additional teaching assistants/recreational pedagogues.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for teaching assistants for our adapted primary school. A professional role in the school that has the main task of providing support to students, parents, and educators. The assistant will be part of a team that teaches students with intellectual disabilities, autism diagnoses, and certain medical diagnoses such as diabetes and/or epilepsy.
We have students in grades F-6, and you will primarily be in groups where students are at an early developmental level. Students are in classes of about 10 students, and some lessons are divided into smaller groups, and teaching may need to be individualized, but always with the aim of eventually reaching the whole group through differentiated instruction. In the team, there are teachers and other teaching assistants with whom you will collaborate closely. The teacher in the class is responsible for coordinating and leading the teaching assistants connected to the group. We strive for a structured and individualized approach where each student can develop based on their possibilities and abilities.
As a teaching assistant, you will participate in teaching our students and also plan and be part of the students' break activities. You collaborate with the teaching teacher to find suitable strategies to support the student's learning. You will also serve in our after-school care.
You are solution-focused and flexible in your work, and together with your colleagues, you seek the best possible ways to reach all students through an inclusive approach.
Are you the right person for us?
