About Fristadsskolan

Fristadsskolan is a secondary school located in the center of Eskilstuna with approximately 470 students and 60 staff members. The school has been newly renovated and we have new, fresh facilities. Quality in teaching is our focus. We work with support from research and help each other to develop our teaching, using digital tools. Our skilled full-time mentors work with student social issues and contribute to our work with safety and study peace.

Our structures for collegial collaboration are well established with scheduled subject time every week, and there is a culture at the school of doing things together and helping each other. In the fall, we will remove our local agreement and revert to working 35+10. The position is a parental substitute.

JOB DESCRIPTION

For this position, you need to want to make a difference for students who need extra support to succeed in their schooling. You are skilled at building trust and confidence with your students. With your engagement and pedagogical skills, you can motivate and inspire students in their education and social development.

As a special teacher, you support students with complex difficulties in the student group. You teach and have documentation responsibility for students in the KÖSU group and coach your colleagues in teaching. You may also have team leader responsibilities. It is a small teaching group with high staff density where you work in a team of about five educators.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of special teacher, we want you to have a special teacher or special educator degree, or an ongoing education. You have previous experience working as a special teacher/special educator. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing and feel comfortable using digital tools as part of your teaching. It is a plus if you have previously taught in school and have practical experience of the applicable curriculum.
