Distance Education at Djurgårdsskolan

Djurgårdsskolan is one of four primary schools that have received permission from the Swedish National Agency for Education to offer distance education starting in the autumn term of 2026. Our brand new operation is aimed at students in grades 6-9 with space for approximately 42 students. Students will come from different schools and other municipalities. It is for this special teaching group that we will create high-quality teaching and learning at a distance and through remote teaching. We are now looking for four teachers

We are now looking for four teachers with an interest and curiosity for distance education and new technology. Together with a special education teacher, two mentors/social pedagogues, and an assistant principal, we will create a teaching environment that does not currently exist. The operation starts in early August 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

For this target group, it is especially important that you create high-quality teaching that encourages students' activity, participation, and interaction. Co-planning, co-assessment, and close collaboration with your colleagues regarding students and teaching are extremely important. By building good relationships with the students, you understand each student's need for physical, pedagogical, and social learning environments. You will create digital lessons and assignments for students' learning. All teaching takes place remotely, both in groups and individually. In addition to your personal workspace, we have a custom-built studio where you can make recordings or conduct lessons. The goal for our students is to return to their regular school. You will be active in the development work of the team and want to contribute to innovation and improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for two teachers with qualifications in mathematics, natural sciences, and technology, as well as two teachers with qualifications in Swedish/Swedish as a second language, social studies, and English. In this recruitment, your interest in developing high-quality distance education is the most important factor, combined with your ability to adapt to students with special needs. We believe that those who have previous experience with digital learning tools and teaching through digital video meetings will be able to adapt to the work more quickly. Since you will be teaching students at a distance, you need to have very good Swedish skills, both spoken and written.

To succeed, we need someone with a positive attitude, who is curious and willing to explore in collaboration with the rest of the team. You are willing to try new things and keep yourself updated on what is happening in the world regarding distance education.
