Social Pedagogues with Mentoring Responsibilities Wanted at Djurgårdsskolan

Djurgårdsskolan is one of four primary schools that have received permission from the Swedish National Agency for Education to offer distance education starting in the autumn term of 2026. Our brand new initiative is aimed at students in grades 6-9, with space for approximately 42 students. Students will come from various schools and other municipalities. It is for this special teaching group that we will create qualitative teaching and learning at a distance and via remote education. We are now looking for two social pedagogues

We are now looking for two social pedagogues who are also mentors with an interest and curiosity to implement a completely new way of supporting students. Together with four teachers, a special education teacher, and an assistant principal, we will create a form of education that does not currently exist. The initiative will start in early August 2026.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work preventively and supportively with both students and guardians. You will be the one who works closely and motivatingly with each individual student. You will do this through digital meetings. If the subject teacher is unavailable, you will be there instead. As a mentor/social pedagogue, you will be responsible for following up on the student's attendance and knowledge development together with the student, guardians, and teachers. You will collaborate with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), the Social Services, and will primarily participate in EHT meetings (student health team). The goal for our students is to return to their regular school. You will be active in the development work of the team and want to contribute with new ways of thinking.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are an educated behavioral scientist or social worker and already have experience working with children and adolescents with diagnoses such as NPF (neuropsychiatric disabilities) and autism. Perhaps you have worked therapeutically and/or in schools? Those who have worked motivatingly through digital forums such as video meetings have an advantage in this role. Here, you need to be able to build trust and confidence without meeting physically. In this role, you will have many points of contact, and you need to be good at collaborating and creating good relationships. As a person, you are calm and have the ability to work at a high pace when needed. You are structured and organized while being flexible and able to prioritize.
