Within the education and labor market administration, we have preschool, primary school, secondary school, a reception unit for newly arrived students, municipal activity responsibility, adult education, cultural school, technical school, central child and student health, labor market unit, and a campus for higher studies.

A few kilometers outside the central town of Katrineholm lies Forssjö school in a beautiful cultural landscape close to forests and water. We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a teaching assistant at Forssjö school. The school has just over 180 students from preschool to grade 6. Adjacent to the school is the leisure center Måsen and Kråkan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teaching assistant at Forssjö school, your primary responsibility is to support one or more students in their schooling. Your work aims to create a safe and inclusive environment that facilitates the student's learning and development, both academically and socially. Your responsibilities include providing individual support to students in the classroom and during breaks, assisting with school assignments, and providing tailored support according to the curriculum and the student's individual development plan (IUP), as well as contributing to the student's participation in teaching and activities based on their circumstances. Practically, this support may involve helping the student with practical tasks, such as during transitions, lunch, or break activities. During lessons, it may involve supporting the student in using aids such as schedules or visual support, and during breaks, mediating in social situations and supporting the student in building relationships with peers. One goal of the teaching assistant's role is to promote a greater degree of independence in the individual.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a qualified teaching assistant. You have completed vocational training as a teaching assistant at a university of applied sciences, trained as a teaching assistant at Komvux (adult education), or completed a pedagogical/special pedagogical education at the bachelor's or master's level.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You find it easy to distinguish between personal and professional relationships and adapt your approach according to the demands of the situation. In stressful situations, you remain calm and act thoughtfully and with control. You also have a well-developed empathetic ability; you can put yourself in others' perspectives without taking over the person's feelings.
