Teacher in Mathematics and Natural Sciences for the Introductory Programme

Örnsköldsvik Upper Secondary School has two school buildings, Parkskolan and Nolaskolan. In total, over 1,800 students study with us, distributed across five university preparatory programmes, ten vocational programmes, as well as introductory programmes and adapted upper secondary school. Örnsköldsvik Upper Secondary School is designated as a training school, which means that student teachers (VFU) are a regular part of the school.

Responsibilities

You will teach mathematics and natural sciences (NO) on one of the introductory programmes. Your work will include teaching, planning, documentation, and contact with students and guardians. The assignment also involves participating in collaborative work with subject and work teams.

The responsibilities often include mentoring a number of students. This entails a significant responsibility to follow up on and support your mentees and to actively participate in student health work.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher at the upper secondary level or for the later years of compulsory school with subject competence in mathematics and natural sciences.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being challenged and thinking creatively, who sees differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a secure adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere within the student group and the work team is a given for you.

We prefer that you have experience in leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and the ability to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. You are responsive, take responsibility, are engaged, and creative.
